Casting
We updated the cast listing page with lots of screen caps from the pilot. What do you guys think? Who's your favorite/least favorite choice so far? My favorite is Stephen Moyer as Bill. I was very impressed by that one. Least favorite is Brooke Kerr as Tara Thornton, and the role is luckily being recast with Rutina Wesley. I'm glad, as Kerr was the absolute weak point in the pilot for me. I'm excited to see Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman. The first few pics I saw of him made me a little wary. He looked small and really young, but he's actually 6'3" and 32 years old, so I think we have some potential here. His dad (Stellen Skarsgard) is a decent actor, too.

Re: Casting
You did very well updating your cast listing page. Jolly good & also your site looks very good, i was impressed anywhom. I was actually shocked when i saw Lafayette Reynolds, lol im not going to judge "Nelson Ellis" until i see how he does in "True Blood" I was very happy when i saw Alexander Skarsgard. He just looks like eric, But every time i read The SV series i always imagined "Stuart Townsend" being Eric. But i think Alex will do well. I was also pleased on who was playing "Gram Stackhouse" I've seen her in other movies like "Twister", i just love her personality in that movie. I remember watching "Summerland" with "Ryan Kwanten" He had an accent in that show, do you now if he's having one in "True Blood"? Im happy that "Anna Paquin" Is playing sookie, i hope this show is very good and stays on T.V and doesn't get canceled like other good shows have in the past.

Re: Casting
I thought the grandmother looked familiar and was trying to figure out if she was from Twister or not. Ryan Kwanten has a Southern accent in True Blood, along with pretty much everyone else. I can't wait to see Eric on screen!!

Re: Casting
I just registered and was very happy to see such enthusiasm aboutthis series! I love the books and can't wait to see how they are adapted to tv. I think Anna Paquin is a great choice for Sookie, she has that ability to seem grown beyond her years but also a fun loving side too!

Re: Casting
I watched the first episode of Generation Kill, which is a mini series on HBO right now with Alexander Skarsgard as one of the main characters. I give him two thumbs up.

Re: Casting
Having seen the first part of the first episode, I must say I'm disappointed in how Bill is portrayed. He looks like an indigent instead of a powerful vampire. What happened to him being a farmer in his former life?? C'mon. I'm sure someone in Hollywood or in the Actor's Guild has a farmer's build. The Bill we're seeing doesn't look like Bill at all! And why does he have stubble?! Don't they get it that vampires don't grow hair?
Anna Pacquin is perfect. Couldn't have chosen better. The rest of the cast is wonderful. But Bill is critical. Sigh. I love these books and don't want to see them ruined by casting.

Re: Casting
I was skeptical of Bill, at first. Your comment about him looking like an indigent made me laugh, because I think on first sight I said, "His hair makes him look like a bum!!" BUT, he grew on me. I promise he gets better further into the episode.

Re: Casting
I think Eric might be in next week's episode. A "vampire with a lot of hair from Shreveport" was mentioned this week.

Re: Casting
I like everyone that is cast - they did very well in that area thank goodness. I do wish they would rustle up some hair gel for Bill. maybe it will change as the show goes along. Heck! the flash backs of him during war his hair looked better - haha Fingers crossed

Re: Casting
I agree, Vesperlynn... his hair has been all over the place- first he's got bum hair (heheh, that sounds wrong), now it's sort of 1970's blow dried and soft... somewhere in between please!

Re: Casting
Hello All, I just found this message board and I am glad to find people as interested in the series as I am. So my thoughts on casting....I just finsished reading the full series of books and Anna Paquin is not who i would have imagined as Sookie- I imagined her being a bit fuller she always mentioned how she was a size 8 and Anna is what a 4 if that big, but she plays Sookie reasonably well otherwise
Bill- I am happy with Moyer
Tara- still not sold on the choice but so far shes okay - i didnt see the pilot with Brooke
Eric- Alex is not who I envisoned as Eric, but I guess I need to see the character more to really decide (I loved Eric in the book)
Sam- is perfectly cast in my eyes!
Jason- Im not bothered by the choice, couldve been someone else but im not complaining
Gran was perfect
The Sheriff and Andy no complaints
Lafayette- he's perfect
Pam- I need to see the character played more
Just my opinion ~ speak with you guys soon

Re: Casting
I was so-so on Anna at first... I'm starting to think they could have picked someone better for the role, but it's a little late for that. She's just a little... stiff.
